Canned tuna is one of the healthiest and nutritionist things you can eat – and it won’t put a hole in your wallet. From all the different things you can cook from it, this tuna salad recipe is an all time favourite and won’t take you longer than 5 minutes – plus its easy to pack to work. The ingredients list is minor and you’ll most likely already have them in your pantry.
What You’ll Need:
- Caned tuna (Oil or No oil)
- Finely sliced 1/2 red onion (I’ve used green onion and it tastes just as good)
- Chilli ( Feel free to leave out if you’re not a fan)
- Arnott’s Vita Weat (Or any wholegrain crisp bread)
Here are the instructions:
Tip the canned tuna into a medium sized bowl and break up the pieces. Add the sliced onion, a clove of chopped garlic and an appropriate amount of sliced chilli – mix thoroughly. Then sprinkle in some salt and a squeeze of lemon.Scoop the salad onto pieces Vita Weat and it’s ready to eat ! Easy to make, delicious and healthy.
This is a staple lunch for me if I’m in a hurry or can’t be bothered to cook – and for those days when I need to keep a high protein low fat diet.
