Have You Heard Of Alan Watts?

One of my favourite teachers to listen to is Alan Watts. Have you listened to him?

Here’s a short excerpt from his Wikipedia page:

Alan Wilson Watts (6 January 1915 – 16 November 1973) was a British-born philosopher, writer, and speaker, best known as an interpreter and populariser of Eastern philosophy for a Western audience. Born in Chislehurst, he moved to the United States in 1938 and began Zen training in New York. Pursuing a career, he attended Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, where he received a master’s degree in theology. Watts became an Episcopal priest then left the ministry in 1950 and moved to California, where he joined the faculty of the American Academy of Asian Studies.

His English accent and his eloquent way of representing ideas to you really leaves the listener with a lasting sense of understanding and peace. His messages convey words and understanding whilst his presentation puts you in that state where you are more open to these teachings. In this article I’ve put the top 3 videos from him which I’ve most enjoyed. These are to get you started.

How awesome was that?

Thank you for posting these. I watched a few videos that included this man but I never found out who he actually was, and now I do. I’m going to do some heavy research now!

This is real cool. I’m going to be looking up more of these video’s soon and doing some research. I can imagine just playing these videos consecutively on a loud stereo in my home as I keep busy or do nothing at all.

Youtube has all the videos you would need! Yes I just let it play in the background whilst I do other things, as long as I can still listen to what is being said.
